And Then There Was Victory...
You've read. You've voted. You've waited with bated breath. Now comes the time for victory to be unveiled.
Read More…Hello and welcome! So glad to have you joining us.
I am Tim Stevens, husband, father, booster of all things Newington, CT related etc etc. It seems unlikely you just found this site by accident so all that was probably review. Anyway, I freelance write for a variety of sites including, most prominently, Marvel.com (home of the House of Ideas) and New Paris Press (New England's online answer to the New Yorker). I also write for pure ha-ha's including the annual Tim Stevens's The January Project.
Oh, and then there's the whole almost a Doctor of Psychology thing (Psy D to be specific).
I am available for further freelance work, birthday parties, and dangerous missions to save the planet. Happy to provide samples and recommendations related to all three.
This is my online home. Please enjoy.

Read More…As can often be the case, things far more important than this writing contest occurred last week. While I did not cancel the voting in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, I did choose not to promote it. The moment just never seemed right or appropriate so I held back. Unfortunately, over the course of the week, there never felt like a “right” moment to point people to the link, so I held my tongue.
As you can see from the previous voting post, polling was intended to end today, a few hours ago. However, it felt wrong to me to not give everyone who participated in the contest and everyone who read the stories (that means you, hopefully) a chance to know of the voting and be able to let people know/vote for their favorites. So we are extending the voting exactly one week. Now everyone has until April 29th to cast their ballot and elevate their favorite story and/or writer to everlasting glory.

Read More…Here we are on March 5th, 2012 and we have reached the end of the 1st Annual (did I say Annual? Well, who knows?) Breaking Up to A Beat contest. All total the site presented 14 different stories (excluding my own) by 11 different writers (again, excluding me). All of us hope that at least some of our tales tickled your funny bone, plucked at your heart strings, or sent chills up your spine. We also hope that not too many of them made you think, “I totally have experienced that.”
