Tim Stevens is Un Gajje

It's not just a nickname, it's a way of life

Hello and welcome! So glad to have you joining us.

I am Tim Stevens, husband, father, booster of all things Newington, CT related etc etc. It seems unlikely you just found this site by accident so all that was probably review. Anyway, I freelance write for a variety of sites including, most prominently, Marvel.com (home of the House of Ideas) and New Paris Press (New England's online answer to the New Yorker). I also write for pure ha-ha's including the annual Tim Stevens's The January Project.

Oh, and then there's the whole almost a Doctor of Psychology thing (Psy D to be specific).

I am available for further freelance work, birthday parties, and dangerous missions to save the planet. Happy to provide samples and recommendations related to all three.

This is my online home. Please enjoy.

January 23, 2018- Stacy's Mom

“Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne from Welcome Interstate Managers

Listen to it here

Stacy’s mom’s the best. Stacy’s mom’s the prettiest. Stacy’s mom says I’m her favorite guest.

My mom is the worst. My mom is a mess. My mom says I owe her because I nursed.

Stacy’s mom lets us stay up late. Stacy’s mom gives us sweet snacks. Stacy’s mom thinks my favorite cartoon is great.

My mom is always saying it’s time for bed. My mom makes me at broccoli. My mom says my shows hurt her head.

Stacy’s mom sings so well. Stacy’s mom dancing so fun. Stacy’s mom never says I can’t ring their bell.

My mom can’t carry a tune. My mom never dances. My mom says if I make that sound again, she’ll leave me in a sand dune.

But Stacy’s mom doesn’t know how to tuck me in right. Stacy’s mom never blows on my cuts so they don’t hurt anymore. Stacy’s mom doesn’t even own a nightlight.

I guess that means my mom is ok. I guess that means my mom is more than fine. I guess that means my mom is my mom for a reason, hey?

I think I’ll keep my mom. I don’t think I’m trade in. I think, maybe, for mom I should shake my pom-pom.

I can still visit Stacy’s mom a lot. I can still get her hugs. But I’ll try to remember how much I love the mom I’ve got.
