So, I find car racing boring. Like terribly so.

As a result, I really don’t know much about the intricacies of it. That, in turn, makes it difficult to write about.

Plus, as covered originally, I don’t find it very interesting. Why write about something I’m not interested in.

I began to think of what I could do with the CAKE song then and my mind first went to trying to add something to car racing. My first thought there was, for some reason, “What if the race car driver was a vampire.”

It could not have been a dumber idea and that’s why I was so tickled by it. I started to put together my “elevator pitch” and that’s where the line DAYS OF THUNDER meets INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE came from. Once I had that, I still had no story. However, I liked it enough that I was reticent to let it go.

Enter, once again, the Flophouse. I was listening to a “Movie Minute” where they took names of Coming Soon movies and created new stories for “Twisted Trailers.” (The links is the first one of them they did…I think they might’ve done four in total.) The combination of that and becoming increasingly enamored of the two sentences I put together for THE DISTANCE inspired me to “build” my own slate of movies that used prior January Project songs of this year as the springboard. As the Flophouse used titles of real movies to create fake plots and trailers, so I used the titles of songs.

I think the vampire car racer is still my favorite in the bunch though.
