Last Week in the Links RETURNS!

I used to do this fairly consistently and then, well, I stopped. But it’s back! Now that I’m a full-time Writer and Editor (so weird to say that still), I’m going to have more stuff. I’m not going to stop sharing the links on FB and Twitter but I thought, perhaps, a one-stop shop might be more appealing for some people. So this is that.

Comic Book Resources

Years ago, there was a Flash story, FLASH: IRON HEIGHTS in which the bad warden was torturing supervillains including one prisoner he was using to power the whole prison. In this month’s BATMAN: ONE DARK KNIGHT, history repeats as another “punish them bad” prison official wants to use a supervillain to power Blackgate Prison and that choice leads to several bad ones. I point out the parallels here.

In WASTELANDS: HAWKEYE #1 an old Daredevil makes an appearance and wrecks Juggernaut. It gave me the flashbacks to how DD triumphed over another significantly more powerful villain so I wrote about it.

BATMAN FOREVER is a good movie that should be referenced as often as possible so I did it here with a comparison between Chase Meridian rooftop scenes.

And this one just happened today, but I looked at the breadcrumbs and used them to predict a Loki appearance in the upcoming MS. MARVEL MCU/Disney+ series. But which Loki?

If you liked Foundation, I’ve got some more tv series you might be interested in!

I reviewed AMERICAN UNDERDOG, a faith-based film light on the preaching but also light on anything particularly interesting.

Sam Raimi is very interested in doppelgangers, doubles, and twins. I explored where they show up in his films from IT’S MURDER! to the newest Dr. Strange.

LICORICE PIZZA is a surprisingly warm film that lets you peek the encroaching darkness but largely holds it at bay.
